Transferring a Person Between Franchises

Transfers happen for a range of reasons. A broker leaves one franchise and joins another. A person takes on a new role that requires a different team association. A correction needs to be made to where someone sits in the network structure. The reason changes, the workflow does not.
Before You Start
Broker Bridge surfaces a reminder at every step of the transfer flow, and it is worth taking seriously. The person being transferred should have already consulted with their current team and franchise before the transfer is initiated in the system. The platform handles the data change. The human conversation needs to happen separately, and it needs to happen first.
Step 1: Open the Person's Profile
From the left sidebar, click Person. This opens the Manage Person directory, which lists every person in the network.
Locate the person you need to transfer. You can search by name in the search bar at the top or narrow the list using the Filters button.

Click the person's name to open their profile.
Step 2: Start the Transfer
Inside the profile, look at the top right of the page. A blue Transfer button sits immediately to the left of the profile status indicator.

Click Transfer to open the transfer flow.
Step 3: Add the New Franchise Association
The transfer flow has two steps. The first one adds the new franchise association. Nothing is removed yet at this stage.

Fill in each field in order:
Franchise. Start typing the destination franchise name. A dropdown populates with matching results. Select the right one.
Team. This field becomes active once a franchise is selected. The dropdown shows only the teams associated with that franchise.
Staff By Position(s). Pick one or more staff positions from the list. At least one position is required.
Effective Date. Set the date the new franchise association takes effect.

Once all four fields are filled, the Next Step button activates. Click it to move to Step 02.
Step 4: Terminate the Existing Franchise Association(s)
Step 02 is where the existing franchise associations are ended. The modal shows every franchise association the person currently holds.

If you need to confirm what an association looks like before terminating it, click View Details next to any entry. The row expands to show the franchise name, staff position(s), and effective date for that association.

Check the box next to each association that needs to be ended. As soon as a box is checked, an End Date field appears below it. Set the date the existing association comes to an end.

Most transfers will involve checking all current associations and ending them. There are scenarios where a person retains a current association and gains an additional one, for example someone working across two teams in the same network. In those cases, leave the boxes unchecked for the associations that should remain.
Once the right associations are checked and the end dates are set, click Transfer on the bottom right to complete the move.
If anything in Step 01 needs to be revisited before completing, use Prev Step to go back.
A Note on Dates
Two date fields drive what actually happens with the transfer. The Effective Date in Step 01 is when the new franchise association becomes active. The End Date in Step 02 is when the existing association closes.
These two dates are independent. In a clean transfer they will usually line up so the person moves from one association to the next without a gap or an overlap. There are situations where a small overlap is intentional, and the date fields give Ops the room to handle those cases without having to come back and edit anything afterward.
