Setting Up Your Authenticator

Everything you need to know about authenticator apps and how to use one to log in to BrokerBridge securely.

What is an authenticator app and why is it important?

An authenticator app generates a unique 6-digit code on your phone that refreshes every 30 seconds. When you log in to BrokerBridge, you'll enter this code along with your password. This is called multi-factor authentication (MFA).

Why do we require it?

Your Broker Bridge account holds sensitive information: your personal details, franchise details, licence numbers, and your contracts with your network besides others. A password alone can be guessed, stolen, or leaked in a data breach. An authenticator code can't, because it lives only on your phone and changes every 30 seconds. MFA ensures that even if someone gets your password, they still can't access your account or your information.

That's why setting up an authenticator app on BrokerBridge is mandatory and cannot be bypassed. It's a small step at setup that protects you and your franchise every day after.

Which app should I use?

Any authenticator app works, so if you already use one, you're all set. If not, here are three popular options:

Microsoft Authenticator

Google Authenticator

Authy Authenticator

You can also search for these apps directly in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Just make sure the developer shown is the real one: Google LLC, Microsoft Corporation, or Twilio.

How to set up your authenticator for BrokerBridge?

No matter which app you choose, the steps are the same:

  1. Open your authenticator app and tap Add (usually a + icon).

  2. Scan the QR code shown on your BrokerBridge screen.

  3. Enter the 6-digit code from your app into BrokerBridge to complete setup.

From then on, each time you log in, you'll just open the app and enter the current code.

Lost access to your authenticator app?

If you ever lose access to your authenticator app, your MFA will need to be reset before you can log in again. To request a reset, email us at brokerbridge-support@dlcg.ca.
